Representatives from professional and voluntary agencies across the Portsmouth region will be exploring the subject of loss and bereavement and sharing expertise at a conference hosted by the Bereavement Centre and Solent NHS Trust on Thursday 30 October.
The annual conference, which is supported by The Southern Co-operative, will bring over 100 health professionals, volunteers and carers in Portsmouth together to share knowledge and experience around supporting the bereaved. This year’s programme, which focuses on exploring loss, includes speakers from The Southern Co-operative Funeralcare and the Rowans Hospice as well as Canon Bob White from the parish of St Mary’s in Southsea. Delegates can also choose from workshops led by local organisations including Portsmouth Abuse and Rape Counselling Services, Solent NHS Adult Learning and Disability Team, Survivors of Bereavement through Suicide, The Bereavement Centre, Solent NHS Multi Cultural Loss and Community Development as well as the Rowans Hospice and Canon Bob White. An exhibition by related local organisations will support the conference. Lunch and refreshments are included.
