We are more than just funeral homes
At our Frome Funeral home, the community has always been at the heart of what we do. Recently, the Frome Times shared a story that perfectly captures this spirit. A local group of volunteers have been knitting small hearts for people receiving palliative care, offering comfort to patients and their loved ones at one of life’s most delicate moments. Kelly, in our Frome Funeral home, along with The Co-operative Food – Nunney Road has been collecting these hearts and championing the initiative across their local area.
Each heart is shared between a patient and someone close to them. When they are apart, each holds one, a reminder that they remain connected. It is a simple idea, but one filled with meaning.

Why this resonated with us in our Frome Funeral Home
Working closely with families every day, our Frome team sees firsthand how powerful small, thoughtful gestures can be. Grief and loss are deeply personal, and often it is not grand actions that bring comfort, but simple signs of care, time, and understanding.
Kelly’s story struck a chord because it reflects what we believe in at our funeral homes. Compassion is not only shown through services and arrangements, but through presence, empathy, and community support.
Care that continues beyond the funeral
For families across the South of England, our support does not end on the day of a funeral. Our Bereavement care services are a vital part of how we help people navigate loss. Our caring teams are here to listen, to guide, and to help families access ongoing support when they need it most.
This may include signposting to local bereavement services, counselling, remembrance options, or simply offering reassurance during a difficult time. Much like the knitted hearts, these acts are about helping people feel less alone.
Rooted in the local community
What makes initiatives like this so special is that they are born from the community itself. Frome is known for its kindness, creativity, and willingness to support others, and our wider Funeralcare team are proud of the same.
We regularly work alongside local groups, charities, and individuals to help strengthen the network of care around families experiencing loss. Together, these connections make a real difference.
