What to expect when arranging a funeral

1. The funeral arrangement appointment
Once you have made contact with us to tell us a loved one has died, we will arrange an initial appointment with you to start the funeral arrangements. We can do this in our funeral home, over the phone or via video call; whatever you prefer.

2. Guidance on immediate next steps
Our dedicated Funeral Consultants will help and guide you through all the necessary legal and practical steps and decisions that need to be made. This can be overwhelming, so we would advise having someone help you, if possible. See our “what to do when someone dies” brochure.

3. We will get to know you, and your lost loved one
Everyone is unique, so every funeral should be too. Our team are here to listen, as much as guide, and we will guarantee to help you arrange a funeral that feels meaningful. We will ask about the person who has died, their passions and hobbies and how these could be incorporated in the funeral service, if appropriate and you wish to do so. We will follow your lead, so if you don’t want to discuss them in too much detail, that is absolutely fine.

4. Cost transparency
We all have different preferences and budgets and we have options to suit everyone.  We are committed to being transparent about our prices and any additional third-party costs. After you’ve made some decisions regarding the funeral, we’ll provide you with an estimate. We will then discuss your financial options, payment methods, and the timeline for making payments.

5. We are there for you, every step of the way

Our friendly, emphatic and experienced Funeral Consultants will support you from the first call through to the funeral and beyond We are also proud to have a dedicated Bereavement Care service, for our clients and communities to use, completely free of charge.
